Kym Viet is a social company providing handicraft products made by disabled artisans. The idea of Kym Viet was formed from concerns of people who had a strong attachment in long time to supporting missions for disabled people. 3 out of 5 founders of Kym Viet are physical disabled people, so there is none better than them understanding thoroughly and sympathizing deeply with disabled people of desire to work and dedicate. The founders together contributed effort and money to open Kym Viet business, where they has gathered disabled people who used to be apprenticed but unemployed then creating job for them. At present, they offer job and stable income for 5 deaf people. In the future, Kym Viet hope that they can bring job for more disabled people.
 

“We are people with disabilities, but we do not create products with disabilities, we have to live on our own products. If customers buy our products with pity, they only buy once and we will be unemployed.” Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong - Kym Viet’s Director sharing about the spirit of Kym Viet. 

With this opinion, Kym Viet always attach special importance to quality of the products. The production principle of Kym Viet is using materials having obvious origins, ensuring health for users and giving priority to use of natural materials. 

The prominent Kym Viet’s products are toys, decorations and kitchenware, which are made of main materials such as 100% cotton fabric, burlap, brocade fabric, cotton, Nhat Le sea sand (Quang Binh), Tra Mi cinnamon park (Quang Nam), star anise (Lang Son), etc. Products’ modes are also frequently improved modes with subtly decorative patterns truly Vietnamese. 

With a sand stuffed animal, for instance, the producing process is really sophisticated. Selected fabric is the fadeless, tight, smooth kind to prevent sand from falling out and hide fragrance. Essential oil scent of the products is gentle and will be retained within 2 – 3 months. Fabric is sprayed a layer of water before ironed to create elasticity. Then, shapes are drawn on fabric by Korean decoloured pencils. After sewing, products are trimmed seam foot to be not cringed and straight. Subsequently, animals are fussily stuffed with mixture of sand and other scented materials. Sand, which is clean and not bad-smelling, is taken from Nhat Le beach in Quang Binh province, then dried during 3 sunny days. If it is humid, sand will be roasted. Sand is satisfactory as it is not sticky into hand.  Cinnamon park and star anise are smashed individually, then combined together following to a secret ratio to create soft fragrance. 

Kym Viet’s handmade products are beautiful, original, useful, safe and durable. By producing high-quality-product, Kym Viet wants to affirm that they are disabled people, but not useless ones in society.

o Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong:

As a physical disabled person, but he used to work concomitantly at two places, Ha Binh Phuong industry zone (Thuong Tin district, Hanoi city) and Top A (topa.com.vn). Then, he quitted a place and founded Kym Viet. Every day, he rides the motor specialized for disabled people to everywhere to introduce and promote Kym Viet’s products. 

o Mrs. Dinh:

She is a normal person, but she used to learn sign language and some handicrafts. Before dedicating to Kym Viet, she had worked in a social organization of Netherlands. She had 20 year experience in communicating and working with deaf people. In Kym Viet, she designs models, directly teaches and conducts deaf members to make products (as a translator), checks quality and takes care of the life of deaf members in Kym Viet.
